2020 Mayor's Report
MAYOR'S REPORT TO THE CITIZENS CONCERNING THE
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE FINANCIAL REPORT, THE REPORT OF THE
EXTERNAL AUDITOR AND THE REMUNERATION OF MUNICIPAL
ELECTED OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF KAZABAZUA
Council members, Citizens,
In accordance with the provisions of article 176.2.2 of the Code City of Quebec, tabled at the
regular meeting of the municipal Council of June 16th. 2021, I present to you the highlights from
the financial statement of the municipality of Kazabazua and of the report of the external auditor
for the financial year ending December 31, 2020, as audited by the accounting firm Piche &
Lacroix CPA Inc.
2020 financial statements audited
Operating revenues for the year 2020 were $ 2,072,874 while expenses were $ 1,727,443.
Consolidated surplus for the year ending December 31st, 2020 was $ 426,103.
The global Taxation for the year 2020 was 0.96 per $ 100 per evaluation.
External Auditor's Report
The external auditor is of the opinion that the financial statements present fairly, in all material
respects, the financial position of the Municipality of Kazabazua, as well as the results of our
operations, the change in our net financial assets, our cash flows and reevaluation gains and
losses for the year that ended.
Remuneration of the elected
In accordance with section 11 of the Act respecting the treatment of elected municipal officers,
the financial report mentions the remuneration and expense allowance that each council
member receives from the municipality. The remuneration of elected officials is established by
By-law.
The mayor’s 2020 taxable income was $ 9,172.00 plus an allowance of $ 4,824.00. The taxable
income of each councilor was $ 4,836.00 and the allowance of $ 2,412.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the financial report ending December 31, 2020, shows that the municipality is in a
good financial situation.
In closing, I want to acknowledge the support and commitment of elected officials and all
employees who are committed to providing quality services. In addition, I thank the many
citizens, volunteers and organizations who contribute throughout the year to the success and
development of the Municipality of Kazabazua.

In accordance with the provisions of article 176.2.2 of the Code City of Quebec, tabled at the regular meeting of the municipal Council of August 4, 2020, I present to you the highlights from the financial statement of the municipality of Kazabazua and of the report of the external auditor for the financial year ending December 31, 2019, as audited by the accounting firm Lacroix & associates.
2019 financial statements audited
Operating revenues for the year 2019 were $ 2,068,468 while expenses were $ 1,727,443. Consolidated surplus for the year ending December 31st, 2019 is $ 329,204.
Achievement for 2019
In the year 2019, the municipality has achieved in capital investments for:
- Renovation and expansion of the washrooms at the community centre for a subsidized amount of $ 71,358 from the Enabling Accessibility Fund for small projects component, Hydro-Québec subsidized amount of $ 63,111 for a contract total of $ 347,341.61 excluding applicable taxes.
- Architectural and engineering planning for a municipal garage.
- 2014-2018 TECQ programming audited for a total amount of $ 740,907 which represents a government contribution of $ 621,067 and the minimum capital requirement to be maintained for the duration of the program for an amount of $ 199,840.
Municipal road charges is $ 412,409 and snow removal was $ 140,952.
Of the total consolidated expense $ 203,475 represents Quotes parts to organizations.
External Auditor's Report
The external auditor is of the opinion that the financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of the Municipality of Kazabazua, as well as the results of our operations, the change in our net financial assets, our cash flows and reevaluation gains and losses for the year that ended.
Remuneration of the elected
In accordance with section 11 of the Act respecting the treatment of elected municipal officers, the financial report mentions the remuneration and expense allowance that each council member receives from the municipality. The remuneration of elected officials is established by By-law.
The Mayor's 2019 taxable income is $ 14,280 plus a non-taxable allowance of $ 7,140. The taxable income of each councilor is $ 4,752 and their non-taxable allowance is $ 2,376.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the financial report ending December 31, 2019, shows that despite a deficit of $ 10,656.40 that the municipality is in good financial situation.
In closing, I want to acknowledge the support and commitment of elected officials and all employees who are committed to providing quality services. In addition, I thank the many citizens, volunteers and organizations who contribute throughout the year to the success and development of the Municipality of Kazabazua.
