2014 Mayor's Report

mayor of Kazabazua.
According to the dispositions of article 955 of the municipal code, it is with pleasure that I inform you of the financial status of the Municipality of Kazabazua.
Financial Statements for the year of 2013: the municipal auditor, Piche, Ethier, Lacroix CA inc. have audited the financial year ending December 31, 2013 and showed an accumulated surplus $93,289.00. The tax rate for 2013 was of $ 0.68 per $ 100 of Roll Assessment.
The municipality is in a good financial position.
In the name of the Council, I invite you to join us for a Special Meeting to be held on December 16, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Community Centre, for the adoption of the 2015 budget.
Treatment of municipal officials:the mayor receives a base salary of $806 and an expense allowance of $403 monthly. Councillors receive a base salary of $268.67 with an expense allowance of $134.33 monthly.
Awarding contracts 2013: according to the law, the list of contracts over $ 100,000 that were awarded in 2013 is available on for consultation through our website KAZABAZUA.CA direct link to the website of SEAO. Contracts awarded this year of a value of less than $100,000 which a detailed expense report was filed at the regular council meeting of November 4, 2014 and which is also available on the Kazabazua website.
Assessed Value: the total assessed value of real property for the 2014 fiscal year was $ 131,839,845. A new role has been filed with the municipality for 2013-2014-2015, to consult the evaluation role; you can do so during the opening hours of the municipal office.
Public Security: our fire protocol agreement with Alleyn and Cawood (Danford Lake) has been a great success, the municipality has signed protocol agreements for fire services with Lac Ste-Marie, Low and Gracefield.
Roads: we invested $375,513.00 in our road network. Options for a municipal garage are being studied.
Health and well-being: we continue to offer services at the library such as immunization clinic from the CLSC. The CLSC continues their visits every second Wednesday afternoon.
Recreation: the rink will be open again this year, have fun everyone. A Kiddie playground and a splash pad are being studied.
Historical Projects: our original Town Hall ‘’Aylwin’’ is in need of some TLC. A new committee has been formed to move this ahead. The municipality has confirmation of a $ 20,000 grant from the MRCVG. The town park is still in development, the new flag poles along with the municipal flag have been installed.
Economic Developement: The MRC has launched a major initiative to create growth in our MRC. Kazabazua is the center of this initiative!!
Kaz, Low, Lac Ste. Marie, Denholm and Gracefield have joined to come up with ideas to promote our region - the key to bring in new residents and businesses.

Greenspace and park maintenance
Under the responsibility of the team leader, the incumbent of the position performs, among other things, the maintenance of the municipal parks and buildings, in order to maintain cleanliness and good condition. Among other things, the incumbent mows and treats the lawn, waters the plants and flowers, cleans trails and driveways, and maintains equipment (games, benches, etc.) and buildings. The job offer is for 10 weeks beginning June 21 , 2021 for 35 hours per week
Construction of a municipal garage
The Municipality plans to build a new municipal garage located on the site of the municipality at 30 Begley Road in Kazabazua. The bidder who will be awarded the contract will have to carry out the work according to the plans and specifications produced by the firms Robert Ledoux Architect Inc as of April 13, 2021 and LH2 Inc Professional Services as of April 13, 2021.
Public notice of acquisition under section 72 of the municipal powers act
PUBLIC NOTICE IS GIVEN by the undersigned Director General/Secretary-Treasurer of the Municipality of Kazabazua, that the Municipality of Kazabazua intends to avail itself of the provisions of Section 72 of the Municipal Powers Act (RLRQ Chapter C-47.1) in order to become the owner of Mulligan Lane Road, known as Lot 5,498,058 of the Quebec Land Registry.
